Job Description

The Global Procurement department is responsible for vendor selection, vendor negotiations and vendor contracting of the (indirect) spend within Unit4. The spend is both so called global spend in respect to vendors delivering to Unit4 globally. 

 The objectives of the Global Procurement department are the following: - 

  • We need to make use of Unit4’s scale and buying power and need to select global suppliers where possible 

  • We need to make sure we bundle volumes over countries and by doing so reduce suppliers improve our prices and increase efficiency 

  • We need to make sure that in country specific spend is purchased at a limited number of suppliers to ensure we have leverage 

  • We need to make sure we standardize both from a service and product perspective but also from a legal perspective 

  • We need to keep track of our contracts and commitments. 

We currently work on these objectives with one Chief Procurement Officer, two Senior Procurement Specialists and one Junior Procurement Specialist.  

Through an internal promotion we are looking for a new person to join our team in a newly created position as a Senior Procurement Specialist. You will report to the Chief Procurement Officer.  

The position will support Unit4’s Workspace / Facilities spend category with speciality to review office leases on a global basis, plus having the flexibility to take on one or more other spend categories as required by the Chief Procurement Officer. 

What You Will Do 

You will work very closely with the Workspace/ Facilities team as well as some of the local managers as you would be their single point of contact for everything procurement related. 

 Spend areas in Workspace / Facilities are comprised of but not limited to: - 

  • Office Leases 

  • Print Management 

  • Couriers 

  • Energy 

  • Fleet/car leases

  • You will build strategic relationships with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and identify opportunities to create value 

  • You will always promote the Global Procurement Policy to internal stakeholders across Unit4 and external suppliers 

  • You will follow internal financial governance surrounding approval and signing of contractual agreements 
    You will procure in a way to meet our company objectives 

  • You will negotiate major contracts in respect to the spend areas and liaise with suppliers to resolve issues; 

  • You will analyse and summarize global commodity spending trends to identify cost saving opportunities 

  • You will monitor activities to ensure Global Purchasing/Finance policy objectives are met; 

  • You will review standard and non-standard contracts and identify, propose, and initiate implementation of process efficiencies and improvements. 

Qualifications

  • You have a Law or business administration degree or in another relevant field; 

  • You bring 7+ years of relevant procurement experience in indirect spend; 

  • You have an in-depth knowledge of Facilities, real estate category, fleet/car leases other categories preferable; 

  • You have excellent stakeholder management skills at all levels including C-Level; 

  • You have excellent time management skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities at any one time; 

  • You are creative and have strong negotiation and influencing skills at all levels; 

  • You can manage and control activities in multi-functional areas or sections; 

  • You take ownership and have the capacity to evaluate and solve complex issues; 

  • You have broad experience of developing high level specifications to use within competitive tender processes across the category 

  • You are fluent in English, both written and spoken.
