Creating a work-life fusion that’s right for you
We want our people to love what they do at Unit4, by bringing their full selves to work and excelling in their careers. In order to directly contribute to the success of the company and in achieving our ambitious goals, we know that our people must also be empowered to balance their personal life and wellbeing alongside their work and career development.
We call this approach Fusion – it is our commitment to supporting a flexible work-life balance and promoting the physical and mental health of our people.

Fusion – finding your combination
Our Fusion program cements our position as a truly hybrid company, using a mixture of Unit4 offices in core locations, hundreds of global co-working spaces provided via a “Space as a Service” model, and home working.
We don’t prescribe where and when our people work, instead we trust them to get the work done and we give them the tools to choose the location that’s right for them and to mix this up as and when they choose.
Fusion is based on four guiding principles, which we believe are unique to Unit4.
Connections make us stronger
While our people may sometimes work remotely, we know the power and importance of connections. We create a positive culture by celebrating the successes of our teams, having social committees that arrange local meetups, team meetings that aren’t all about business, and in-person volunteer days, to name a few. We also have five Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) focused on Pride - LGBTQIA+, Women, People of Color, Mental Health and Access, and Environmental Action. These groups have been set up to foster a diverse and inclusive workplace for underrepresented communities, aligned with our mission, values, and practices. They are employee-led, and each group has its identity, mission statement, goals, and roadmap.
The Mental Health and Accessibility Employee Resource Group has given me the opportunity to advocate for disability rights and deconstruct prejudices against mental health. These are topics very close to my heart because they are part of my life. This ERG creates a safe space for people who identify with these topics. Ultimately, this ERG makes the workplace more accessible and safer for everyone - and that gives me a sense of purpose.

Wellbeing is essential
As part of our wellbeing ethos, our Work/Life Balance Policy ensures our people not only take a minimum of 20 days of holiday a year, but we also offer unlimited holiday (in agreement with one’s manager). We trust our people to manage their schedules and workload. This policy is autonomous and helps employees manage time off to balance home life, mental health, and workload effectively.
With health and wellbeing in mind, our Wellbeing Days give all our people specific paid time off days during the year, for them to switch off and recharge knowing the rest of the company is not working on that day too.
We also offer a range of platforms to support our people and their families, including:
Headspace - giving access to meditation and mindfulness exercises, along with an online coaching and employee assistance program (EAP), enabling complimentary counseling and confidential emotional support to employees and their dependents.
Espresa - a wellbeing platform that offers a range of fitness videos, educational videos, and on-demand Les Mills wellbeing videos, while also facilitating Unit4 learning challenges.
Maven - providing free, 24/7 access to specialized virtual care, trustworthy resources, and more, focused on both fertility and family health, and menopause and ongoing care.
At Unit4, benefits are provided to support our diverse employees and their families with their health and financial wellbeing. We are very proud of our offerings with regards to wellbeing here at Unit4 and we are passionate about driving change. We have hosted online meditations, presented on treating and preventing burnout as well as on topics such as menopause support.

Ensuring comfort while working at home
We have implemented workplace self-assessments to help our people review and ensure their home step-up meets their ergonomic needs. This assessment allows our people to identify any potential risks that may impact their physical health in the long term.
Hybrid working is here to stay, the future workplaces will need to transcend physical boundaries, offering more flexibility and autonomy. They will be dynamic hubs where virtual and in-person collaboration seamlessly comes together, empowering employees to achieve work-life balance while driving productivity and innovation.

Keeping it relevant
Working with a global, diverse, and people-centric workforce, we continually review our benefits and workplace initiatives to ensure they meet the needs of our people and that they complement our many other inclusive practices.
