Our climate journey: measuring what matters so we can reduce it

At Unit4, we believe meaningful climate action starts with transparency. Our 2025 Greenhouse Gas (GHG) report reflects a more complete and accurate view of our environmental footprint — helping us better understand where our impact sits today and where we need to focus next.

As our business grows and our measurement methods mature, so does our commitment to continuous improvement, accountability, and long‑term decarbonisation.

Key call‑outs from this year’s report

1. Scope 3 emissions are fully mapped and transparent

94%

of Unit4’s total emissions sit in Scope 3

Reflecting the reality of a software and services business.

This demonstrates that Unit4 is already looking beyond its own operations and being transparent about value‑chain impacts.

2. Improved data quality

The year‑on‑year increase in emissions (+25%) is primarily driven by:

  • Methodological improvements
  • More complete Scope 3 coverage

This year’s results reflect a more accurate picture of our emissions, strengthening the foundation on which we build our reduction plans.

3. Clear understanding of what really drives our footprint

The report shows that Unit4’s main emissions drivers are:

  • Digital / Cloud and IT infrastructure
  • Purchased services
  • Business travel and employee commuting

Measuring our emissions is not the end goal — it’s the starting point. This year’s report highlights the importance of understanding our footprint in full and having honest data to guide our next steps. Without measurement, progress is guesswork. With it, progress becomes possible.

Every data point helps us understand where we can improve, adapt, and grow. Sustainability is a long‑term commitment, and this is one more step on that journey, helping us turn insight into action and ambition into progress.
