International Day of Women and Girls in STEM
On February 11, we mark the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. This day is a reminder of the essential role women and girls play in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) — and of the work still needed to ensure equal opportunities in these fields.
Despite progress over the years, women and girls continue to be underrepresented in many STEM disciplines, particularly in leadership, research, and technical roles. Barriers such as unconscious bias, lack of visibility, limited access to role models, and unequal opportunities still influence who enters, stays, and advances in these careers. Raising awareness is a key step toward changing this reality.
Why this day matters
Supporting women and girls in STEM is not only about fairness — it’s about innovation, impact, and building better solutions for everyone. Diverse perspectives lead to stronger ideas, more inclusive products, and better outcomes for society as a whole.
This international day aims to:
Encourage equal access to education and careers in STEM
Promote full participation of women and girls at all levels
Support leadership opportunities in science, technology, and innovation
Inspire younger generations through visibility and representation

The Women Employee Resource Group at Unit4
Our Women ERG plays an active role in this journey, continuously working to bring visibility, awareness, and meaningful conversations around gender equity, inclusion, and representation — including in science and technology-related fields. Through collaboration, storytelling, and shared initiatives, the ERG helps keep these topics present and relevant across Unit4.
Our actions in practice
In addition to the work led by our Women ERG, we collaborate with partners around the world that help cultivate future talent and empower women with the STEM skills they need to grow into tomorrow’s tech leaders. Across Unit4, our people have contributed to initiatives that inspire, educate, and provide hands-on opportunities for women and girls, taking our commitment into meaningful action.
