We are looking for a professional B2B Events Executive to join our small, dynamic marketing team in Harrogate.  This role is key to lead generation and brand awareness and you will be responsible for planning, full project management, implementation, promotion, tracking and optimisation of Unit4’s events.  You will be part of the local UK and Ireland marketing team that closely works alongside the global marketing and senior management teams.

Event Marketing Responsibilities

  • Project manage Unit4’s annual UKI customer conference.  A 2-day event with partner sponsorships, presentations, guest speakers, evening entertainment for over 500 (with support from regional and global marketing resources)
  • Liaise with external suppliers regarding venues, stand builds, caterers and speakers
  • Ability and confidence to liaise directly with internal Unit4 stakeholders such as senior management team, pre-sales and partners
  • Manage Unit4 special interest groups, product launches and breakfast meetings including budgets, schedules, agendas and coordinate with outside suppliers, Unit4 speakers and customer attendees
  • Schedule and run sector specific exhibitions throughout the year, across the UK
  • Oversee marketing collateral, promotional items and various trade show assets
  • Plan and execute digital marketing campaigns to promote customer and prospect events/conferences through email automation
  • Ensure events and exhibition details are updated on the UKI website and promoted through social media channels
  • constantly reviewing events and exhibitions to ensure we’re getting the best ROI, this could include researching and reviewing new events and exhibitions
  • Capture all leads by event, updating reports and measure success, ensuring all leads are followed up through business development
  • All events remain within agreed budgets


  • Minimum three years working experience in B2B event marketing
  • Demonstrated experience creating project plans and coordinating internal and external resources to meet project goals
  • Experience in managing a large scale B2B event
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
  • Ability to travel from time to time to venues and occasional stay overnight(s)
  • Outstanding communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing, measurement and social media for business
  • Self-starter with a high level of initiative and a results-oriented mind set
  • Detailed-oriented with superb organisational skills
  • Experience using a marketing automation platform (essential), CRM (optional), event management software (optional), CMS (preferred)
  • Degree/qualification in marketing/business or related field
