Centre of Excellence Project Management and Support Intern

The Operations Support Intern will provide a professional project management support service to the UNIT4 Centers of Excellence in order to facilitate the successful delivery of Operational requirements, Programs and Project initiatives as part of the overall COE delivery.  This is a fantastic opportunity to work within the software industry and gain useful project management and business support experience for a bright, motivated and energetic person.  Hours will be 40 hours during the business week, so is a perfect opportunity for night school or graduating students, someone re-entering the workforce.  Anticipated duration of the internship is 6 months which may be extended to one year. 

The successful candidate will work primarily in our Student Management business, however will be expected to work across each of Unit 4 Centers of Excellence and line management boundaries to ensure effective and successful delivery of COE initiatives.

Job Description

  • Support the development and implementation of the COE initiatives using project management techniques to develop, track and monitor to successful completion.
  • Support the Head of Operations in the development, implementation and maintenance of a robust project management framework ensuring alignment with delivery requirements to aid COE and regional targets delivery.
  • Aid the development of risks and issues within the individual COEs and support the alignment across different project areas.
  • Support the process of managing risk and issues to actively review with respective actions being assigned and tracked.
  • Provide support across COEs in the preparation and management of internal reviews and compliance requirements as part of monitoring action plans.
  • Support COEs with communication and engagement strategies for the COES, in particular sales enablement material, knowledge transfer and briefings for key stakeholders.
  • Aid the COE(s) in the development and implementation of internal project assurance that meets the needs of Unit4 Executive Management and Heads of COEs.
    • Ensure that support is available to COE Program(s) and project(s) Governance to provide a robust management process.

Specialist knowledge/ skills and abilities:

Essential:

  • Ability to work on own initiative and communicate effectively as a team member.
  • Ability to analyze information and present in a clear and accurate manner both verbal and written.
  • Ability to write formal and factual reports, identifying key issues.  
  • Ability to work towards tight deadlines whilst working to multiple and conflicting deadlines.
  • IT skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Understanding of the issues facing the business in the wider context.
